  • US Linux Server Scheduled Downtime

February 1, 2007 by Michael Foo
  • Dear Valued Customers,

    Date
    : 02/03/2007
    Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm Malaysian Time (GMT +8)
Affected Clients: US Linux Shared Hosting & Reseller Hosting

We would like to inform you that on February 3rd, Saturday at 1:00PM (GMT +8) we will begin performing scheduled maintenance to upgrade system kernel on our US Linux Server. The upgrade will take approximately 1-2 hours. During the upgrade we will install the latest system kernel on our server and will reboot the server in order to load new kernel code.

This update is unavoidable as it fixes number of security holes that were discovered in mainstream Linux kernels. Estimated downtime for all hosted accounts should not exceed 60 minutes. It usually takes around 5 minutes for the server to reboot.

    We apologize for possible inconvenience.

    Sincerely,
    Michael Foo
